New Boots..................

and a new scarf!!!!
Just delivered were these bad boys from Next   Not too bad at £85 me thinks. Very excited to get a new pair of black winter boots, unfortunately Mr B.P. just doesn't understand the excitement, what is wrong with the man???  His response was "don't you have some black boots already?" Yes but not like THESE I squealed.  They will have their very first outing tomorrow. (Will I be able to sleep tonight with the excitement, I am such a sad muppet!).
As they are black, I just couldn't resist this burnt orange scarf which I saw in a little boutique near me, to go with it.  It's the sort of place where you don't like to look at the price tags do ya know what I mean?! But this was actually from White Stuff
The price of £17 sure beat the one of £169 for a vest top they had in the very same boutique.  Yep that isn't a typo, a plain vest top for £169!!!  I love nice things but surely that is more money than sense?!

Anyways enough ramblings from me, I am off to gaze longingly at my new boots :)

What have you lovelies bought recently that you are raving about?

Glossybox October 2012 Review

Ok, I know that Glossybox has been done to death out there in the bloggersphere but I've not done a post on it yet, so here's my tuppence worth.

Glossybox this month is a DIY beauty with a donation from each box going towards Breast Cancer Care.

I'm not going to do full scale reviews as I am sure you have already read all about this months box or already have opinions on your own box, so here is a little rundown.

Anatomicals - Don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub. (rrp £3.49)

I found this to be a nicely grapefruit scented scrub, quite gel like in texture, almost like a shower gel with added 'grit'!  I'm used to using a more heavy duty scrub and didn't think this would do much, but I was very surprised and it left my skin feeling supersoft.

Yves Rocher - Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser (rrp £18)

Well I didn't notice any instant dissolving of any wrinkles! This is a very nice moisturiser with a fresh smell.  A little goes a long way which I found after putting too much on and ending up with a very sticky face!!! Not a good look!

Skinetica - Anti-Blemish (rrp £6.99)

Not sure how much use I will get out of this product.  I'm not prone to breakouts and when I do get a spot I tend to leave it.  Will have to wait and see how my skin reacts to this next time I have a blemish.

Green People - Organic Self Tan (rrp £18.95)

I'm a big lover of self tan but as yet to try this one out.  It claims to have no 'biscuit smell', can't wait to see if this is true.

Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure (rrp £6.99)

I got lucky and got the shade Black Platinum, which is great for this time of year.  The only downside is it is quite similar to my beloved essie - power clutch which I love with a passion, so I couldn't help but compare the shade to that.

I was very keen to see how this worked as it states it's a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and top coat in one bottle.  I am a base coat, two coats of polish and a top coat kinda gal so I was hoping I would be able to cut out a coat or two, but to be honest I needed at least 3 coats of this and could have possibly done with a fourth if I'm honest.  So although it has the complete package in one bottle, I still needed as many coats as I would normally use.

That said, I liked it.  It's lasted pretty well, about the same as the other polishes I use.  The photo above is about 3 days into wear and it's just starting to go around the edges but yep I would re-purchase.

I know there is much debate about value for money in Glossybox, but I've been subscribed for a year and there has probably only been 1 maybe 2 boxes where I thought I wasn't getting value for money and I like the fact I get to try out products I wouldn't normally have picked up in the shops.

So what did you think of October's Glossybox?

My dirty little secret

Not as bad as the title suggests!!!

My secret is that no-one knows I've started to write this blog.  No family, no friends, not even my hubby who shall now be known as Mr B.P.

Why??? No reason in particular.  Maybe just because I want something which is just for me.  I've always written a diary and have done since I was 12.  My family including Mr B.P. know I write a diary but for some reason I don't want them to know about this blog which may seem strange to you, but as my blog is newly born maybe that will change in the future, who knows.

So for now this blog is my secret, just between you and me.

What about you? Is your blog your dirty little secret or do you tell all and sundry of your penmanship?

OOTN

Technically this is an outfit of the other night! Also I cheated as I'm not wearing it, but you get the idea!

Trousers are by Next, top by French Connection and my beautiful heels and clutch are by LK Bennett.

This was worn to a joint 40th birthday meal for some friends of ours.  Yep I'm really that old, in fact I am sorry to say I was the 2nd eldest at the table that night - where does time go???!!!

But age aside, it was a wonderful night and the first time in 5 years we have all been in the same room together.  Not because we've had a mega falling out or anything! Purely down to logistics.

I absolutely love these heels, yes there were expensive, yes I did deliberate over whether I would get value for money out of them, but as I've already worn them twice in the past fortnight I think I can safely say they were a good bet.  Also the hubby said they were a classic design (and what he knows about fashion you could write on the back of a postage stamp!), so I just had to add them to my collection.

(plus they are super comfy - win win all round).

Well hello there!

So for a long time I resisted the urge of the blog, but it has been like the itch that just needs to be scratched and so here I am in bloggers land.

Like you guys, I love reading blogs.  I started with beauty blogs and have now branched out into lifestyle.  People fascinate me and I hope some of you will be fascinated with my little corner from Dorset.

I will 'try' to talk beauty, fashion, food, books, films, about my fur-babies and anything else which pops into my mind.

Come along and join me for the ride!
