take my breath away

Sometimes when we are dealing with the drudgery of everyday life, we forget the beauty around us.

I spend a huge part of my life hold up in my study.  I love this room, it has all the 'pretties' I love in one place (I may even do a room tour of it one day) but my desk does face the wall, with my back to the window.

A few days ago, after a particularly long day, I let out a long sigh, got up and stretched my aching bones, turned around and was greeted by this.........
..........Mother nature you can always take my breath away.

I just thought to myself WOW! For me there is just something about the changes in the sky which knock me sideways.  I love sunrises and sunsets and everything in between, for me it is mesmerizing.

What things have you seen recently which have taken your breath away?

  1. That's beautiful - wonderful colours and I love it when the clouds go all fluffy/ bobbly like that.

I sometimes feel the same looking at a bare ploughed field fringed with oaks, and the rooks soaring above in a clear blue November sky (rare but beautiful!)

  2. Wow, what a beautiful photo. The colours are really striking!

I think it's so important to take a few minutes to just appreciate how beautiful the world is on a daily basis. I drive down into the vale of York each evening and can see the lights in clusters of villages spread out in every direction. Just stunning!

  3. We often tend to find the most joy in the little things x
This post actually put a smile on my face. You should turn your desk around Kay!

Oh and the sound of a room tour definitely tickles my fancy :) :) :)

  4. I love this post! Nature is magical. Yesterday it rained a lot here in London, then in the afternoon a ray of sun popped out and there was this beautiful pink sunset. Amazing.
